We provide a multitude of diagnostic testing programs to help students find out more about themselves and how they learn. This will help them feel more confident and help you, as parents, know where their strengths and weaknesses are. We can help provide a detailed roadmap to help them reach their goals. This will help them in school and in life! Below are some of the diagnostic assessments we provide at Scottsdale Education Center:
SEC provides Elementary Math and Reading, Middle and High School English, Writing, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra computerized assessments for grades 5 – 12. The results from these assessments provide a detailed road-map of strengths and weaknesses from which SEC can deliver a personalized academic plan to focus on remediation for concepts missed and support for current class work.

NATIONAL/STATE GRADE LEVEL ASSESSMENT
The Study Skills assessment makes a critical link between the student’s individual learning style and the most effective way for them to study by breaking down what they know and how they study into 10 different categories. In addition, a multi-sensory test will be given categorizing the student into learning styles using Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences. SEC provides Study Skills curriculum that will focus on the areas of need determined from the assessment including managing study time, Taking Notes, Using Reference Material, Memorization Techniques, Effective use of a Planner, Preparing for Tests, etc.
STUDY SKILLS & LEARNING STYLE ASSESSMENT
For high school students preparing for college, this diagnostic is an actual test from the test designer CollegeBoard. It will pinpoint the areas where a student needs to focus down to the type and difficulty of the individual question. We offer free testing events most Saturdays where we proctor full practice SAT and PSAT tests, grade and analyze the results, and provide a review of the analysis. From that analysis we are able to recommend a test direction and preparation plan based on a student’s current testing results. We offer classes and personalized tutoring programs taught by very experienced, award winning teachers.
SAT/ PSAT DIAGNOSTIC
The ACT diagnostic is an actual legacy ACT: English, Math, Science, Reading and an optional essay. It can pinpoint the areas in which the student struggles. A detailed explanation of weaknesses will be provided. When using this diagnostic test along with a PSAT or SAT Diagnostic, a student can help determine whether they might perform better on the ACT or SAT and focus studying efforts accordingly. We offer free testing events most Saturdays where we proctor full practice ACT tests, grade and analyze the results, and provide a review of the analysis. From that analysis we are able to recommend a test direction and preparation plan based on a student’s current testing results. We offer classes and personalized tutoring programs taught by very experienced, award winning teachers.
ACT DIAGNOSTIC
HSPT DIAGNOSTIC
For middle school students interested in attending a private Catholic High School. This test helps determine whether a student is poised to pass their mandatory entrance exams and pinpoints skill development needs. SEC provides classes and tutoring services that can be personalized based on the results of the assessment.
